Your Sapience brain is encrypted at rest on our servers. We hold the key, which is why the line below is a promise and not yet a guarantee.
If you would rather nothing left your machine at all, the local install extracts on your own computer and sends only the finished notes.
Today, we won't look at your data. We are building it so that we can't.
What leaves your machine: with the connector, only what your AI sends us, the notes it saves, the questions it asks and the documents you add; with the terminal install, the text of the AI sessions in the folders you choose, which we extract knowledge objects from and do not keep. What stays: your transcripts and files, untouched, where they are. What you can delete: any note, any source, or the whole Sapience brain, from the app, which erases its files from our disk.
Then the terminal install is the fuller path: it reads your local session history, builds the brain from it, and keeps syncing as you work. Mac + Python 3, about ten minutes.
